Playing cards were called "Mamluk" in the Middle East. They have four suit designs that in a complex way relate back to Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water. These symbols translate to Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts and Spades. In a deck of 52 cards, there are fewer images than in the tarot cards that evolved from them. Cartomancy is done using various layouts or spreads. By using various spreads, one can give a detailed reading. Each of the cards has a meaning, and when you lay them out in a certain way the interpretations deepen. (2/?)
For the most accurate long distance readings I’d recommend you having a physical deck of plain playin cards to shuffle & pull from yourself & then you’ll send me pictures of the pull, tell me which direction you flipped up first & then I’ll do my shuffling & do my pulls & spread and hopefully my pulls will give more clarity to whatever your seeking! I used to do a silly who you will marry card reading with a deck of cards back in like middle school it was so much fun! lol but this is cool!! I knew playing cards had the connection to tarot but I have never actually done a real reading with them besides the silly one I did lol and I love the history of them! "cartomancy" is fortune-telling done with a standard deck of playing cards! This form of divination was spread across 14th century Europe by the gypsies and can be traced back through the Middle East, & in more modern times is being kept alive within Appalachian communities (: The original cards may have been developed in tenth century China, but their true origins are hidden in history. ‘Gypsy travelers’ and other early practitioners were known as cartomancers or card readers. They have given their readings to "seekers" all over the world. When people are playing Bridge, Spades or Poker, they may not understand that playing cards were the original tarot deck! (1/?)
