Honestly you don't know how it will be until you're in it.. and it all kinda disappears in a blur. Plan for what you want but also plan for a backup so you've got all bases covered. That way you will be prepared either way. Whatever happens, you can do it! And there's no.shame in things not necessarily going the way you'd planned. Just do what feels right at the time and what you need to do. You've got this! 💪
Spend some time learning some breathing techniques. I wanted the same thing and I mostly got it but would not have managed without breathing very deliberately. I had to make some decisions along the way too which were not in my birth plan by any means (happy to share more if you want me to) and my husband and I had to use the BRAIN decision making tool but it kept us logical and calm where we could be.
I was 40+3 too when I gave birth and honestly I was super scared too, I also have a low pain tolerance and I don’t know how but I got through it with just the pool and gas and air, I just did what feels right in the moment and honestly the fear goes away once labour starts coz I was just too busy with handling the contractions. 😂
I found some positive phrases/affirmations and repeating them while taking some slow deep breaths really helpful anytime I struggle/d throughout my pregnancies. Also i didn’t have time for any pain relief with my second- it was so manageable. You got this mama! At the end of all this, your beautiful baby will be in your arms ❤️
It's a completely normal thing to feel. Thing is take what drugs you want it's your birth if you can't handle the pain then take something else I had epidural with my first and I'm so glad I did. It's not a bad thing. You've just got to think to yourself all that's matters that you and baby are safe. Try hypnobirthing videos to keep you calm, deep breaths listen to music. Positive affirmations in your mind
