I’m in the exact same position with the two sugar in urine samples and I’m 35 weeks. Except they’ve not done the test again, they’ve made me self test my blood sugars 4 times a day for a week with the finger prick and strips. If I have two high readings, they said to call up. I’ve had one high reading after a chicken dinner where I think the culprit might have been white potato and the fact that I was so full so maybe struggled to digest. I’m shocked personally as I’m a health and fitness coach and eat very healthy and balanced 90% of the time. I’ve eaten less sugar while pregnant if anything, so I guess it can happen to anyone. I’ve probably ate more starchy carbs than I normally would so maybe it’s that. I’m just waiting for a second high reading now! I don’t really know what happens after that! I had a growth scan yesterday though for bump measuring small and baby was just under 50th centile so no big baby! I know how you’re feeling though as it’s worried me a bit! Xx
Hey iv I'm 33weeks pregnant and have gestational diabetes and PGP pelvic girdle pain iv had to tell my work that I'm guna have to take my maternity leave leave earlier than the end of Feb when I organised to be cz I'm in so much pain
I just got diagnosed with GD at 32 weeks (after being told at 27 weeks I didn’t need the test then told at 31 weeks I did!) Everyone has been super helpful and dietician told me to have smaller portions of carbs, save sweet treats for special occasions, and do some movement after eating even if it’s just a bit of hoovering/dancing around the kitchen. I’ve also started drinking lots more water and today all 4 of my tests have been below the threshold so I think it’s working. I was devastated when I found out but now a week later I’m feeling way more hopeful about it!
Your body starts storing more glucose the closer to full term you are (as it’s preparing for labour), which may explain your results. I had exactly the same - GTT at 28 weeks which was clear but glucose in urine samples every time I’ve tested since. I refused a second GTT as they are generally less accurate the post 32 weeks and didn’t want to go through the whole procedure again. I’m just trying to be sensible with my glucose intake going forward. X
Hey, I have had my second today as well. I had one at 25 weeks which was fine, but the baby has been measuring big in scans so was sent for another today. Won't get the results for a week. Process was exactly the same as the first
