Snacks

What snack do you give to your child between meals please? We have rice cakes, veggie straws.. but not sure if they’re substantial enough and would like some variety! Thanks

Fruit like Blueberries, banana, pear etc Crackers Breadsticks Crossiant Basically anything

I struggled so hard with snack ideas til I worked out how to make my own. I've made some little fruit and oat bars, cheese and spinach muffins, ABC muffins, pancakes etc. I make a batch in the evening, keep two in the fridge for the next day and freeze the rest. They defrost in like 30 seconds in the microwave then they're lovely and warm for them to nibble on. Fruit wise, my boy is OBSESSED with Blueberries, so that's an easy one. Otherwise babybells or pieces of fruit that aren't too messy (like cut grapes or steamed apple pieces) for a snack cos I just can't be bothered with the high chair for snack time.

Fruit with peanut butter or yoghurt to dip, veggie sticks with hummus, mini muffins or granola bars (homemade). Packaged snacks I usually get the Organix puffcorn and kiddylicious smoothie melts as something quick to grab if I've ran out of homemade stuff.

Cheese, yoghurt, fruit, oat bars, savoury muffins, toast, boiled egg, cucumber sticks and hummus, oat cakes and spread, cheerios
