Dairy free diet

Can people please give me some ideas for lunch & tea that’s dairy free! Having to go Dairy free for 4 weeks as advised by the doctors and I feel like I’m now mind blank with what to feed my little one! He’s 15 months and also going through a fussy stage and throwing everything on the floor 😂😎

There is a vegan version of everything you would usually give! Breakfast - weetabix with oat milk, fruits, pancakes (no egg needed just use soya milk), toast with dairy free butter , peanut butter, jam, you can get vegan chocolate spread if you’re going wild 😅 Lunch -sandwiches with plant based philidelphia or other vegan cheese or whatever else you’d put in just dairy free version, you can get vegan baby bel, fruit, loads of crisps (my lo likes bbq gruffalos), crackers with houmous of almond butter, falafel, crumpets, pasta with sauce, cous cous with veggies in, my lo loves quinoa but it’s the messiest food ever Dinners , chickpea curry, spaghetti bolognese, fishless fingers chips, spaghetti hoops, veggies , pasta with melted cheee broccoli and salmon (not sure if you eat meat, we use vivira plant based salmon which is not fish) , higgidy do a really nice quiche she loves, forever trying salad bits but it’s always a no 🤣 You can make muffins etc just switch milk up dairy free

My little boy doesn't have dairy at the moment and there are still so many great options for him! For breakfast I usually give him ready brek (because it's fortified with calcium). I make it into an overnight-oats type thing by mixing it with a banana and coconut milk purée and leaving it to absorb it a bit. He also has scrambled eggs in the morning too. For lunches/dinners I make things like veggie rice (just saute whatever veg you want in a pan before adding the rice and whatever seasoning), tuna pasta bake (without cheese - I just make a tomato/veggie sauce then add tuna and pasta and bake in the over), spaghetti bolognese, salmon with veggies/carb on the side. For snacks I give him things like a crumpet with vegan spread/jam, fruit, the kiddylicious snack range has some biscuits that don't contain milk. Can always bake stuff though and substitute cow's milk/butter for alternatives. I would also just be mindful that a lot of vegan alternative foods are highly processed and contain lots of salt.

@Natalie thank you so much! Great ideas! Some of the ones you have given he will eat already! I just find myself having to read every single ingredient now it’s like ahh 😂😂

@Caitlin thank you so much 🤍🤍

We just use oat milk for milk alternative, flora and plant based cream cheese. Mini quiches (without cheese) Puff pastry (make sure vegan) rolls with anything in, we do broccoli and cream cheese. Pasta always a hit in this house with some butter then fruit/ beans. Once you get the hang of it it just becomes part of life.
