@Chloe he said he wants dna to apply to be on the birth certificate
So basically, I spoke to a solicitor, my ex isn’t on my sons bc, and he has to pay CMS unless he can prove he isn’t the dad, where he pays for it himself. And getting on the bc isn’t that easy, he has to go to court etc, not just a DNA test, and even if he does get on the bc, doesn’t mean he gets parental rights, he has to go to court again to do that.
Sorry yeah CMS paternity has no baring and puts you under no obligation to add him on the birth certificate he would have to get a lawyer go to court and have all the DNA done through there and if is up to the discretion of the judge wether him being added on and having equal parental rights is in the best interest of the child x
@Libby @Chloe is it worth going to CMS and doing dna ? X
@Aliy @Libby @Chloe
I was the same situation the other parent doesn’t need to be on the birth certificate to be required to pay CMS if he denies it will need a DNA test done this is organised by CMS and he will have to pay for it and it’s not cheap lol
