Food throwing

My son (2) is seated in highchair for every meal and snack. Otherwise, he runs around with food and won't sit still. Having problems at the moment with constantly tipping and throwing his food (1 bite of 1 thing. Throwing another at the same time and it's like this for the full meal). Do you have any ideas on how I could manage this? I've tried placing bits of food on his plate at a time, but then he gets highly frustrated that this is all he's getting to eat (and nothing to throw). I've tried giving him small toys on his plate to play with, too. Tia

So I saw a tik tok that saved me. A “no thank you” plate. I put a bowl and unwanted food is put there.

That's sounds amazing. Although I should have maybe mentioned my son is non-verbal and has zero understanding otherwise this would be great, and I will keep this idea for when he hopefully eventually has understanding 😊

Ah I see my son is very low verbal and I have to be super animated with him.

My daughter did it too for ages. Now she is 3 and it stopped around 2.5+ years. I just gave up. Allowed her to throw and run around. She is hyperactive which is why she never sat still to eat or anything. Just let it be. Hell come around. It's frustrating for now but it's just a short while.

Do you have a bowl or plate that has a suction cup attached to the bottom. That way he can't pick up the bowl or knock it over. This may not help if your lo is throwing the food items and not the entire plate
