Blw

We've been weaning for just over a month but only with purees and the odd melty stick. I really want to do blw as my little one is so interested in picking up the food or spoon and feeding himself but I feel like my anxiety around it is holding him back. Has any one got any tips on how to be more comfortable to introduce him to more solid foods.

My recommendations to help your anxiety would be to attend a baby first aid class if you haven't (in person is definitely best). Also, check out this Facebook group for very handy information and support for BLW: https://www.facebook.com/groups/WeaningtheBLWWay/?ref=share There's an app called Solid Starts too that may be helpful for knowing how to portion and serve foods correctly. The gagging still gets me hyper alert, but it's all fun (we do a mix of BLW and purees here) and I feel confident knowing what to do if something does happen thanks to taking a first aid course. You've got this!

I feel exactly the same!!!!!! Was literally going to post asking the same thing x

@Lemees i feel awful as he's so into being independent with it but my fear is really holding him back x

Start with softer textures and foods if you like such as mashed potato, sweet potato mash, guacamole etc 🥰
