Not very often, but now and again I give her one off my plate, or the own brand ‘veggie fingers’ which are lower in salt!
My LO has had them. He has what we eat. If he has something that's a little over his salt content I make sure to balance all his other meals accordingly throughout the week
@Yasmin I forgot to ask how old baby was!! I went by under 1yo, but if she has a toddler then obviously she can give a bit more!
You can also make your own fish fingers without salt! They're super easy to make and are good in the fridge for 3 days max
@Alex time is literally flying! Our babies are only just 1yrs old and honestly, I only knew this slight change because (funnily enough) I wanted to try our LO with fish fingers last week, so was double checking the amount then! I haven't done homemade fish fingers yet, but will try sometime - great shout 😊
@Yasmin Potato tots and chicken nuggets are also easy!! If you want any recipe ideas lmk because I have loads!!
I dont eat fish only chicken but I want my 1 year old to eat everything
@Alex could you forward the link please
If you mean the link to the recipe I can just type it here. You just need some fish fillets of your choice (cod or salmon is my go to), a few eggs (crack them into a bowl and whisk together with a fork) a bowl of breadcrumbs and a bowl of flour. Cut the fish into 'finger' shapes, dip them into the flour, egg mix and then the breadcrumbs and pop them onto a baking tray with foil. Cook for 18-20 mins at 180°
I buy veggie burgers and they are a bit of a life saver for the evenings I don’t have anything prepped x
As long as it's not more than 1g per day you should be okay! Look at the salt content and divide it into however much you're giving baby, for example if you give them 2 fish fingers and the salt content is 4g for a box of 6, you're giving them 1.2g which would be too much.
