Weaning struggles

Is anyone else finding weaning very up and down? In the beginning my baby took to it really well but now more often than not he’s closing his mouth, refusing food and gets upset. The only thing I can get him to eat are fruit pouches, if I give him anything thicker or lumpy he gags and won’t eat it. He’s 8 months. Any tips?!

Yes! Same here following as I need advice too.

Sameeeee!!!! It's becoming extremely difficult!

Yeah, same. I've hated the whole process. My nephew took to it all so easily so I'd been feeling like a failure

Samee((

My baby will only have food that’s been pureed within an inch of it’s life and sometimes she just wont have it. She hardly likes any food and I’ve tried tons (only likes sweet potato and cream cheese, mango, pear, peach yoghurt & biscotti biscuits). I add her milk with them to thin them as again she hates things too thick. Been at my wits end and then I decided not to fuss as she is still taking her milk which is where she gets everything from right now. So aslong as she is having around 600ml a day of that then any food is a bonus. Otherwise I was going a bit crazy. Still has until 1 year old before food takes over milk. I have been so hung up on if she is keeping up with the progress that I haven’t been enjoying the moments now. I think as long as we all give it a good try then we have done our best! Give yourself some slack I say. With the fruit pouches, maybe put it in a bowl and try with a spoon, it might be doesn’t like the spoon yet. I say embrace the fruit pouches!
