My LB has been fussy eating since 18 months now 21. I made the mistake of offering alternatives and biggest advice is to not do it, do not make mutiple meals. My LB eats best in the morning, but otherwise he's pretty much just wanting some form of potatoes, breaded chicken or fish. So I downloaded a few guides from nutritionists etc and biggest thing is to not offer alternative foods. If they refuse to eat their lunch or dinner, save what you can of it and then re offer it later when they tell you they are hungry again. Don't give in to giving foods that are sweet etc just cos you know they'll eat it always offer it again later and let your little one know 'okay, but later on if your hungry I will re offer you the same meal you have here' - trust me they have tantrums and sometimes may not even eat it again when re offered an that's their choice then, they can wait for their dinner instead of supplementing with snacks etc. If my LB doesn't eat his dinners etc I give a banana only before bed x
Don't give up on trying to give variety, always keep trying but always have atleast 1 safe food on their plate that you know they will eat. Sometimes aswell if they eat more like grazing then give graze lunch snack plates, if they become striving trust me they will start to eat what's infront of them - this is very normal and they can eat very little but aslong as they are still gaining weight, pooing weeing and active etc they are fine. Can last up till there like 5 years old sometimes xxx
When my baby is fussy like teething and unwell I just give cerelac or baby porridge as it's quite light and creamy, at least getting some calories in that way I'm guessing until the eating routine returns
It's very normal, I know it's hard but don't put pressure on, just let her be, offer only very small portions so you're not wasting food (you can always give more if she wants it) and just keep offering variety. Tiny tums recipes on instagram is good for food therapy ideas for fussy eaters, incorporating food into play can make them curious xx
