Nursery?

Anyone’s baby starting nursery soon? My baby boy is now starting in the end of April. He will be about 10 and a half months! I’m so sad and nervous about it ! I really don’t want him to go in, but I need to go back to work. I was going back in June, but found out if I don’t go back before the 30th of April I don’t get funding till September! Anyways I’m on here for fellow mums that are sending their babies and abit of reassurance! I have cried so much haha. I need to try and enjoy the last two months with him

My little girl went to nursery from 6.5 months as I went back to work! We did 5 x settling in sessions leading up to it where we would leave her there for an hour so she could get used to it! She’s been going since the first week of Jan and she honestly loves it! They upload pictures to the app they use and log her naps/feeds etc! I was so so nervous but honestly have no concerns about her going now! I’d also say she seems to have learnt so much since going, crawling, sitting herself up etc! I know it’s so so scary but honestly they seem to love it after the first few initial sessions! X

@Grace aww thank you this is lovely! I just feel sad that he may do a lot of his firsts without me seeing them first 😭 but the thing is it needs to be done. So I need to get through it! I just love being with him so much x

I was the exact same I think it’s normal 😭 I was crying the night before she went for the first time! I know not all nursery’s are the same but they’ve been so good at telling me how she’s doing throughout the day! and as hard as it is and you miss them so much it’s nice to get a little time for yourself back! Xx

@Grace did you just do the hour settling in sessions before you went back to work? I'm nervous as his first full day in will be my first day at work but hopefully those settling in sessions are enough?

@Amy yes! She had her settling in sessions when I was still on mat leave! And then she had her first full day on my first day back at work! My partner did book a half day that day just in case she really struggled but she was absolutely fine I think that was me just being a worrier!xx

My little one will be starting in May. If it helps I also have a 3yo who has been at nursery since a similar age and he is absolutely thriving. They do so much with him - crafts, sports and even Spanish. He can already write his own name and he has little friends who he will eventually go to school with. It’s hard at first but they will be fine 🥰
