Have I created a bad food habit?

My girl was poorly a few weeks ago with hand foot and mouth, she had it so so bad! During that time she was off her food so I would feed her fruit and biscuits just to get something in her. I still offered usual main meals but she wouldn’t touch them. Fast forward to now and she’s back to her usual healthy self but won’t eat anything part from fruit and biscuits 🤦🏼‍♀️ I offer her main meals but she literally won’t touch them! Is this a phase or have I potentially created a fussy eater without meaning to! I don’t know how to get my food loving, non fussy toddler back 😩😩😩

Try not to worry too much, you got your child to eat when they were poorly that's the main thing! This could just be a phase, continue to offer their usual meals & they will eventually start eating them again.

Don’t give her fruits and biscuits, it’s healthy for them to feel hunger and when she does offer a meal, if she rejects then a bit later offer again. She will eventually eat and remind herself of different types of food but don’t offer biscuits or fruits otherwise she will reject a meal and know that later on she will have what she is used to. :)

Yesssss i created this problem when my boy was ill with peanut butter sandwiches and now that’s all he wants!!!

We had HFM and my girl was on snacking diet for another month or so afterwards and I did worry too, but now she's back to normal. I wonder is they are still not 100% even is they seem to be better?

Perhaps serve a little fruit and biscuit only alongside the main meal.. I often find if I put something my LO is loving at the moment with other bits, it’s enough to get him eating, sometimes that’s all he’ll have but more often once he’s started he’ll move onto other things. Also try not to stress about it! You’re doing your bit providing balanced and healthy food that’s all you can do and LO will eat of that what she chooses :-) You didn’t create fussiness, you did what was best for your LO whilst she was poorly.. I’m sure she’ll be back to making a mess with all sorts of foods in time x
