GP visit for weight management

Hi, I was just wondering if anybody has experience visiting their GP to discuss weight management? I'm beginning to worry I have a problem with my eating and have put on quite a lot of weight since having my little girl. I'm a bit nervous to make the step, and not sure if the GP is the best person to ask?

I personally haven’t but I think it depends on what you think is causing it. Ie stress, way of coping, etc in which case a self referral to talking therapies might help. If you think you need guidance on what to eat etc maybe more slimming groups ie slimming world, curves etc. maximum fitness is expensive but good as well! either way gp is probably a good starting point and can probably point you in the right direction. I know some of my colleagues have seen their gp about weight management and one got ozempic for it. Good luck! X
