Mines like that he's 2 1/2
My youngest is allowed to eat whatever he wants pretty much, the older ones eat whatever dinner is planned as.
Everyone parents differently but I definitely wouldn’t allow that at my home. I’d tell them they need to finish their meal and then they can have cereal for dessert.
To clarify, it is not like they have it for dinner everyday. I don’t quite understand the judging comments how it’s not allowed if it’s in your own home, acting as if none of you ever just have sweet pancakes for breakfast, and/or cereal for dinner yourself at some point, possibly when you were all children yourself as well. To me, as long as they’re eating and feel good, it’s all fine with me. Sometimes, yes, they would opt for simpler things like cereal or sandwiches, pizza etc. but our dinner options are always very diverse, and they eat them just as well as a bowl of cereal. Both of mine enjoyed fruits and vegetables for snacks choices, especially my son, he can just have a bowl of broccoli at any time during the day, my daughter loves fruits and veggies soup. They actually don’t enjoy meat as much. They did actually have some of my rotisserie chicken and veggies, just not the full plate. It’s not a bad habit at all when some adults would only have bread and cheese for dinner.
That’s exactly what I was going to say. A lot of people as individuals have easily eaten cereal themselves at dinner time. But then in the context of a 2 year old suddenly it’s like you’ve committed a heinous crime by relenting and giving them that one day 😅 They’ve eaten, that’s good 👍🏻 I’m all about healthy eating as far as I can be. But also about being pragmatic and human.
People aren’t judging you just because they say they wouldn’t do that in their own home. No one’s demonizing you lol
My son had corn bread for dinner so its like that 🫠
That definitely wouldn’t be happening in my house. How about we give you some dry cereal on the side? Because absolutely tf not 😂
