Maybe try a dummy feeder so you know there is no chunks of food they can choke on. They will just be getting the juice/liquid so they can desensitises to the taste of food a little bit first
I'm doing BLW with my second and realised how bad my first one got on with it - he was always gagging and vomiting and it scared the life out of me! My first definitely had a tongue tie so wonder if that was something to do with it. I persevered anyway and it did get better but took a while. Gagging is meant to be normal and provided they're making a noise then they can breathe. Also, the gag reflex is what protects them from choking and this gets less sensitive with time, so in some ways having solids earlier is maybe a good thing! But ultimately you have to do what is comfortable as it's no fun for you or baby if always feeling anxious when feeding them!
My girl does the same. It’s totally normal due to the new textures etc and should settle down pretty quickly. We are about 3 - 4 weeks in now and she still does it but she is starting to swallow some bits ☺️
Their gag reflex is much shallower than ours. Loud and red let them go ahead, silent and blue they need you. Would recommend joining some BLW pages on Facebook, their advice they give has massively calmed my anxiety and made me see that the gagging is so normal
Sounds like she isn't ready. Id leave it a few days. Also YOU might not want to do puree but maybe baby does
She might just not be ready yet, maybe stop for a few days or even weeks and try again - don't panic 😊
