Someone told me that food before 1 is just for fun - I keep reminding myself of this whenever my baby rejects the meal I’ve made for him 🥲 xxx

I’m in the same boat my son turns 9 months on the 2nd of March and when my health visitor came out and asked me so how many meals is he having a day? I felt like crying cause he’s not really having one proper meal he would rather chew at snack type things and not even finish that and actual food he refuses. She told us to stop giving him milk but hes still being fussy and it’s so stressful! Cause if hes not eating actual food and now not having milk then whats gonna happen with him

@Hess ive got same advice to cut milk in day time but dont know how to do it cause he will be crying🙄

so my LG was similar, even now she nibbles on a snack at lunch and has a bit of dinner but mostly milk. She loves food but doesn’t eat whole meals! She is 9 months in 2 weeks. We’ve found baby led has helped a lot. Just sort of giving her food and letting her feel and play and taste it in her own time has given her more of a want to eat if that makes sense? This past month her want to eat more has really increased! We do spoon feed her some of the puree stuff we’ve made or anything mushier but I’ve found that she will happily bring stuff to her mouth to eat that way! One of her fav things is homemade naan/flat breads that I’ll either serve plain or dipped in a sauce or puree! You can make them with coconut yogurt and flour (self raising or plain with a pinch of baking powder) and making the shapes and frying them :) they keep in the freezer for 3-6 months so you can make a whole batch! This really helped her get new tastes and stuff and then she’ll eat at least one or two so—

— I know she’s eaten something! We also got one fk those munchkin dummies you pop food into and we put fruit and veg or yogurt and stuff in them for her to get a feel of the taste of some foods then we introduce the same food in puree or finger food form (or if baby can pincer grasp we do lol bite size bits too) 💕 Food is just for fun and experimenting and learning before one ! The main source of sustenance will be milk :)

I also found they like what you’re having! So trying to make a baby safe version of your dinner to have to the side to pass to them helps as well :) my girl is a cheeky shit and will sometimes ignore what I’ve given her to steal from my plate now lmao

5-7 spoonfuls is good! I got told their stomach is only the size of their fist
