Willful son/table manners

So I'm at my wits end. He throws his cutlery/plates/bowls/food mostly at the floor but, sometimes across the table etc. We've tried so many different ways to stop him, nothing seems to take hold and I'm fed up, frustrated and just don't know what to do. He loves his food and will eat most things but, sometimes he just messes around and thinks it's funny to throw his food on the floor , spit it out of his mouth etc. Please any advice would be welcome or if you are experiencing the same thing, what you are doing, if it's working, I just need a way out of this. I hate wasting food and I'm tired of constantly having this battle at mealtimes.....😔
