Refusing milk

My 8 month old is refusing milk.not little but a lot. He is just pushing the bottle away. He used to drink well up until 8 months. I tried reducing the solids but he is still refusing the bottle and drinking way less than he should be drinking a day. He loves solids but as milk comes first I want him to have that and his intake is reducing day by day. He doesn't seem to be teething as he is generally happy and not fussy, we haven't changed the bottles or formula it's been the same as ever. Anyone else experiencing this and what did you do?

could be teething !

It sounds like teething. My daughter did this every time. She would act physically and mentally fine but would just refuse to eat her formula. If it is teething there really isn’t much you can do but wait it out. Have you increased the nipple size on the bottle ? You could offer smaller amounts of formula during a feeding that way you are not wasting formula. If he is still making wet diapers I wouldn’t be too concerned. You could also take him to your pediatrician to get evaluated.

We’re seeing this too with our 8.5 month old. We’ve tried a higher flow nipple and that seems to be helping us!

Same with us - doesn’t seem to be teething and refusing milk. Loves food

@Carrie no I never tried changing nipple size and that could be it! I have been using smaller sizes and I feel so guilty! I will get some large ones right away! @Shelly thankyou!

That definitely could be it! Try sizing up. Most nipples come in size 0-3. I bet right now he is on 0 or 1 start with the second size to get him use to it and then size up again if he is eating slow or refusing. I bet he will start eating like a champ again. Also it may take him a few bottle to get use to the new nipple flow.
