Ladies are we shaving down there for labour 🫣

I always keep myself shaven, purely for myself as I just feel more confident. So, with all the people that are going to be down there, I wanted to make sure I was comfortable. I shaved yesterday, as I am being induced tomorrow, but I won’t be doing it again. It isn’t recommended, especially if you were planning to do it when labour had already begun, as there is a small risk of infection with ‘open wounds’ (micro abrasions) and all the fluids! As I said, I did it purely because I feel a lot better about myself and people being down there, however I have made sure to give it a few days to ‘heal’ a bit as to minimise the risk of any issues. Like you said, midwives do not care in the slightest, but if it is going to make you feel more confident and less vulnerable in the situation then go for it! I just personally wouldn’t want to risk doing it so close to actual birth, as small as the risks are, the last thing you want is to be stuck in hospital after birth with a preventable infection ❤️

I’m 37wks and had a wax because I don’t want to be exerting myself trying to sort it myself and also wanted to make sure there’s no open wounds so this gives plenty time to ensure there isn’t ☺️ (hopefully) 😆

I meant more like a trim rather than clean shave, haven’t been able to see properly to do that in a long time 😅😂

Ah just use a beard trimmer then 🤣 over the toilet you’re all good 👍🏻😆

I find it amazing how people have the energy to shave!! I’m most likely going to go into labour with every single hair possible😂😂

Yes mine is always trimmed. Just use a mirror or wing it 😂 I’ve been making a conscious effort to shave my legs & everything else more leading up to birth just incase 😂

I always shave with all my 5 pregnancies, I shave once am 36/36 so that am healed done there and it’s all clean and comfortable, I just never want anyone to see me like that down there, no matter what.
