Baby’s first birthday

My baby boy is 1 at the end of the month- what are people doing for their little ones first birthdays? I am just having a little gathering at my house with a couple of ‘mum’ friends and their little ones. So nothing crazy! I feel bad for not throwing this big extravaganza for his birthday to make it so special. Is anyone else feeling like this? I’m driving myself crazy about not throwing anything bigger than what I am doing. Should I be making a bigger thing/ party out of this like should I be booking halls and bouncy castles, soft plays ect. My little boy has only just started crawling properly and is only just starting to pull himself up so he can’t stand by himself yet and he’s just not into any big toy stuff or soft play things at the moment. Sorry in advance if this sounds silly! Xx

We are doing the same x We are taking her to the aquarium on her actual bday just me and hubby while her sisters at school then will have cake after school. Then the weekend of her birthday we have invited family up for food and cake. I dont think you need do anything spectacular he will have a lovely time whatever you do. Don't be guilted into being the ' Instagram perfect birthday ' xx

We’re keeping it lowkey! Just us 3 for the morning for presents and popping out to get breakfast & for a dog walk and then in the afternoon we have family over for a some food & cake

We are doing the same thing! We’re having a family get together at my partner mums house as it’s bigger than ours and we both have big family’s. Just having food some little games if it’s nice for outside a cake. I felt the same way I wanted to do him a big massive party but then I was thinking I would rather just have all his close family there and have a day out to make memories with him and his sister. Please don’t feel guilty. I think what you have planned sounds like the perfect day. It’s not what you do that’s makes it’s special it’s who you have around you ❤️

Doing a similar thing. Got a little party on the weekend in the afternoon then in the evening a meal. As some people can’t come to the party. Really doesn’t sound silly at all!!!!!! They don’t need much as long as they’re loved and cared for and given a little extra treat xxx

We are literally doing a day out me dad and baby! It’s our special day to celebrate with them and there’s no need to spend a fortune for everyone else! My mum and dad are throwing her a tea party the weekend are but literally just with my uncles to do presents have a dinner and cake that’s it x
