Swim nappies when potty training

My son (2yo) is potty trained since a bit over a week and doing great. His last accident was on Thursday. And he only has nappies on when he sleeps (including nap time) Today we’re going swimming today and I’m wondering whether to put a swim nappy on him. What would you do?

Personally I’d put a swim nappy on this one time as potty training is still quite new and I couldn’t deal with the stress of a potential accident in or out of the pool.

Depends on your son and his poop schedule. Mine only poops once a day so if I know she's already gone she won't be going again and I can skip the nappy. If his schedule isn't set or uou don't want the stress just put one on his 🤷‍♀️

We did swim nappies for my kid for about a month after potty training. One day he just turned around and said he didn’t need one 😅. we always go to the toilet before getting into swim stuff and now he’s fine no swim nappy.

Swim nappy are useful only for poo! They don’t hold pee (otherwise they’d get full with the pool water). So if he’s good with holding poo (my daughter never pooed outside the house as a toddler) or he usually doesn’t poo at that time, there’s no need of a swim nappy

You can get a Happy Nappy Duo which acts like a swim nappy as it has a special lining.

Thanks everyone. I hadn’t thought about the fact that they only hold poo. So he went without and all was good, except his trunks are a bit too big without a nappy on 😂
