Allergic Reaction! 🤬🤬🤬

Our daughter is allergic to peanuts. My SO bought breakfast for our daughter from Tim Hortons this morning. I asked him to get a croissant with herb and garlic cream cheese and a croissant with jam and cheddar cheese. She's very picky so we like to give her options and she likes both of these sandwiches. So I thought she'd be satisfied. She didn't want to eat the one with the cream cheese so I gave her the one with jam and cheese. I even opened it to show her and all I noticed was the cheese. I thought her dad forgot to order it with jam. The cheese had melted and i didn't want to pull the sandwich apart, but I did enough to notice the jam was missing. Closed it and walked away. And of course, She didn't want to eat it either! She poked her finger in, put it in her mouth and then pushed the sandwich away. I actually got upset because she's ALWAYS difficult when it comes to food and to be honest, I'm not feeling well so I'm a bit cranky 😓 So her father took the food away and she began to play with some toys. All of a sudden our daughter was complaining about her leg itching..to our surprise, she was covered in hives! I became frantic and confused! Our daughter had an allergic reaction to peanut butter when she was 3 months old and I've kept her away from peanuts ever since - she's now 3. I have yet to get her tested to see all she's allergic too, but I also know she's allergic to sesame. I've just been doing my best to keep them away from her and I've been doing great! BUT, I'm definitely making an appointment TODAY. Thank god she didn't actually eat it! She might need an epi pen. I don't actually know. So now I'm scared, I called Tim hortons asking if the sandwich was in contact with peanut butter or sesame. They said it's possible to have come in contact with peanut butter, but not sesame. I called AGAIN asked if maybe it's in the cream cheese ingredients which is highly unlikely, but I don't know what else to think! The person said hold on let me find your order. I told her what we ordered, what time, and what the total was. She found the order in the system...reads it back to me "plain croissant with herb and garlic cream cheese, plain croissant with peanut butter and cheddar cheese"... I said, wait what?! ....blood starts boiling and then I just LOST IT!!! 😤😡🤬 "Wtf?!? Our daughter is allergic! Her father would never order that! WHO THE FUCK EATS PEANUT BUTTER AND CHEESE?!?" I ran to the sandwich opened it to reevaluate. It was subtle, but it was there! 🤯 I had to calm down and get my shit together, I also apologized because it probably wasn't even her who made it! But I had to let them know how serious the situation was! And also make sure they understood what I was saying because I'm LIVID!!!!!! Idk what to do. They took my info and I took their franchise number. I'm definitely making a complaint. But it doesn't feel like enough. What more can I do? Has this ever happened to you? What did you do? What would you have done? The hives were all over her body! Legs, arms and face! Gave her Benadryl, gave her a cool bath. Doused her in baby powder to help the itch. She's much better now! 🥰 but that was very scary for her..for all of us! We had no idea where it came from. Our daughter is currently smiling, but I'm still steaming 😤

Oh no! I'm so sorry that happened. Sounds terrible!! I'm sure you are now going to check everything and that can be a stressful job. I hate to be a Karen, but when peoples lives are on the line, you have to make the company aware of it so people can get better training. I'm glad she didn't eat it, I'd definitely get her into see the Dr. Immediately and get her an epi pen. I'm not sure what else you could do other than speaking to the manager at that location and informing them on what happened and what could've happened. But be sure to take some time to calm down bc people make mistakes, and I'm sure it was just some young kid not listening to the order like they should've.

You're right, thank you. Trying my best 😮‍💨
