BLW/Spoon Feeding

Hello Mums! I have a v fussy 11m old who will only be spoon fed when it’s something sweet eg yoghurt or breakfasty bits or a very small selection of Heinz jars! She purses her mouth closed 90% of the time when I try to spoon feed savoury things. I have been doing BLW now for a while because she prefers to feed herself savoury food but I’m finding that I’m struggling with ideas especially trying to keep it healthy for her. What are you all doing for meals and snacks? What about on the go? 🥰

I always get called weird for this but the dentist praises me for it😂 I boil some veg in a morning and use that as snacks throughout the day as fruit contains a lot of sugar so can become bad for their teeth if they snack on it a lot. For the meal side of things im out of ideas myself😩 its hard to constantly think of different things so im following to see what other people suggest

I get all my ideas from TikTok and Instagram!

My now 5 year old would never touch puréed or spoon fed meals and he ate so much in this stage. Weaning books like ‘what mummy makes’ etc are great for inspiration for BLW meal times. Veg packed Quesadillas, Omelettes, Risotto balls, etc are all great. Plus letting them play with/ feed themselves with spoon helps them get more interested in it if they don’t like being fed. It’s very hard to offer variety and keep thinking of ideas so definitely follow lots of BLW instagram accounts for ideas.

@Emma I crinkle cut and roasted a load of veg today for snacking tomorrow, but I’m struggling with ‘ mains ‘ I feel like sides are easier

@Diana do you have any faves ?

Savory muffins. Google some Different recipes and see what they enjoy, I make once a week and freeze them. They make a load of crumbs but easy way to get a good bit of egg, cheese and veg in the baby! Also veg fritters are popular with mine.
