Hair dye and postpartum hair loss

Has anyone ever been refused service of having their hair dyed due to postpartum hair loss? I’ve called the stylist and told her I’m having some hair loss and she is going to have a look at it today and do a patch test if she thinks it’ll be okay to dye it. I booked this in the beginning of January but it only started about 3 weeks ago (im 4 and half months postpartum) Has anyone ever been refused their hair dyed because of hair loss? I’m really worried she will deny me service 😭

If they refuse they care. Your roots are already weak and you’re going to potentially kill off the follicle roots by damaging them. Up to you obviously but I’d be so careful and not go dying it

I had mine dyed at this point when I was losing hair. Is it mostly patches around the front of your head/facs? Cause that’s all it was with me and was fine. If it’s more than that, you could always push it back 1/2 months x

@E.P that’s good to know if they do refuse, thanks!

@Jess I cannot pinpoint which part of my head it’s coming from, it seems like it’s all over, mainly after I’ve washed my hair! I just run my hands through and it comes out 🥲

If you’re washing it and losing a lot that’s normal anyway! Because you don’t lose much in pregnancy it seems so much more dramatic, but it is normal. If you’ve got bold patches that’s only time to worry x

My friend has a 7 year old and the patches where she lost her hair postpartum have never really grown back properly so they still stick out the same as mine and I'm 20 months pp so her hairdresser never dyes those bits when she does the rest of her hair cause she doesn't want to damage them when they're clearly already weak

If they're doing a patch test and then decline to dye it then that honestly means they care. You don't want to damage already weak hair, that's why they're doing the consultation.
