Give the same amount of food that you do and they always give her a purée, I would ask if there’s a reason they’re not giving it to him and go from there!
We give her solid foods at home and do purées for daycare so it’s easier for them, if they give her solid foods I don’t mind though!
I’m struggling with this as well trying to come up with ideas of food to send to daycare. My son goes to daycare full time so I try to provide food for them to feed him twice while he is at daycare. I will usually send one puree and then try to send some sort of solid food. A couple things I have sent recently were pancakes made with banana and egg, chopped up strawberries, scrambled eggs with cheese, potato and broccoli tots. If I don’t have time to prepare anything, I’ll just send him with a purée and then some baby oatmeal and then send some baby puffs/yogurt melts as a snack. If you want them to feed your son a certain amount or at certain times, I would just let them know that and let them know not to feed him anything you didn’t send with him if you’re not comfortable with it.
Still sending three bottles (usually 6 ounces). He does finger foods for AM and PM snacks then purées for lunch.
Thanks everyone. I will try to bring up next time I can. I think the main daycare lady has been out and she's the one that's been giving him purees routinely. The other staff don't seem to be doing that. I added one of the baby teething crackers as a snack in his bottle bag hoping they would see it but they just ignored it. It was in the bag all this week and kept getting returned to me.
I pack puree for my 8 month old daughter along with 2 bottles of breast milk (4 oz and 5 oz). She gets mushed solids at noon provided by daycare. The purée jar I pack (and sometimes leave at daycare) is back up food in case she really feels like eating it on top of breast milk and mushed fruit/veggie at lunchtime
@Izamar not all daycares are bad!!
@Izamar some parents don’t have a choice but to send their kids to daycare. And not all daycares are bad, my son’s daycare tracks everything so I get notifications every time they feed him, change him or put him down for a nap. They will call me or message me if they have questions about something. His daycare is great about following the things I tell them.
As someone who is a daycare teacher my daycare has everything we need for said child. Bottles/sippy cups formula snacks food diapers and wipes ect. But I would ask them personally or ask his teacher .
