My daughter is allergic to cow's milk so we have a pediatric dietician and consultant who advise on her diet. They both recommended Alpro Growing Up milk (there's an oat version and a soy version) or Oatly Barista. You need to avoid the organic versions because those don't contain iodine.
We use the oat growing up milk it's got the same calories and vitamin recommendations in. Oatly I believe has the right calories in as well. There's a few people I follow on instagram The dairy free mum is one of them that gives really good advice about products and the dairy ladder
Thank you all so much for your help!
My little boy has a cows milk allergy and he has Mighty Pea milk, it has 50% more calcium than whole milk. Then we do lots of soya yoghurts and similar things throughout the day too x
I don't get this question, as long as the oat milk is fortified with all of the nutrients needed. Then it doesn't matter that your child isn't drinking cows milk. I feed my child a normal balanced diet & do give them vitamins as well.
Your baby will be fine on oat milk - much better for them than dairy! Dairy is for baby cows 🐮 😁
We thought our son had a potential cows milk allergy, so we used the Alpro growing up milk as its fortified with all the vitamins and minerals that a baby needs from cows milk! Definitely agree not to use anything organic as its not fortified with any nutrients and definitely not meant for children! X
Yoghurt, cheese etc is all they need obviously alongside a balanced diet. We still breastfeed but if we didn’t I would offer any milk (he wouldn’t drink it anyway) x
