Asking GP to sign you off work

I’m struggling at the moment, fatigue, headache, dizzy just want to lay down. I’ve got a GP appt today and I’m hoping they sign me off work so I’m left alone and not expected to just wfh. Is it cheeky to ask to be signed off? Has anyone asked and they’ve said no?

I have been off work my whole 1st trimester due to HG - constantely tired and dizzy. I have now asked to be back part time through medical note too; it is definitely not cheeky; your health and baby come first! And you need to rest, you shouldnt feel bad about it 😚

I did the same! GP had no issue with it. Signed me off for 3 weeks. Do what you need to do 🙂

100% not cheeky, I did the same, got to look after yourself no jobs worth it

I’ve been really ill all week and saw the doctor Wednesday and she asked me herself do you want me to sign you off sick, she was so lovely! I just said yes please 🤣 if I’m better by Monday it won’t make a difference but it’s better to have a sick note than not I thought!x

He did sign me off for 7 days but it means I need to go back to work on Thursday, so I’m already thinking I might need a new one

Definitely get signed off! I’ve been off for 4 weeks due to HG and I’m a nurse and just can’t even get out of bed let alone look after other people! Hope you feel better soon xx
