I was told I was at risk to come early bc I had my cervix opened but it quickly closed back & was long. I was still high risk with my OB bc I started care later on. I’m 26w4d today, but my fluid started leaking earlier this week. So I’m gonna be hospitalized until I birth - hoping for 34w but any day now is a chance - whenever she comes she’ll be in NICU ‘more than likely’ until her original due date. I’m not in labor or having contractions which is good, but am leaking some fluid everyday the past few days now. They’re hoping vaginal as she is head down & there’s less room for her to flip again. But the latest she’ll come is 34 weeks, as they’ll induce me at that point. They’ve given me steroids to speed her lung development, but again will prolly be in NICU about 1-1.5 mo minimum. Tysm for your story as it has def uplifted my spirits. I was pretty confident til they started mentioning possible brain bleeds & delays. I have faith, but the worry did start once they said that Chance

@Macdalia Hey girl, just try to think to the future. It was the hardest thing I had to ever endure mentally, and emotionally (and physically). Just keep thinking about when they're 10 years old, and you're eating breakfast at the table together. They had to give my little guy steroids for his lungs before he was born as well. The hospital stay is so boring, and debilitating but find some crafts you can do, and maybe bring in an Xbox, a playstation or a laptop. But yeah, my son is almost 4 and driving me nuts now lol. The toddler stage is not for the weak. The NICU stay is something that nobody else can understand unless they've gone through it too..I'll be thinking about you both
Are you finding out that you're high risk?? I'm not sure how to take this one. My first born (he's 4 now and healthy) was high risk, and I was in the hospital for a month before he was born (because of his issues, nothing with me) VIA emergency c section at 35w6d. Which isn't super premature, but his lungs etc hadn't finished forming completely etc. He was admitted to the NICU for about a month. Our little dude due in June is looking to be healthy though thank goodness. But we have experienced the other side of it all
