Any advice?

I have a 2.5 year old little girl and I’ve just had a baby boy who’s now one month. My little girl has now started wetting herself lots, sucking her fingers, licking her lips (all sore and red at the bottom) and playing with her food (she never used to want to get her hands messy) now she’s dipping her hands in yoghurt and jelly and getting smothered. I understand this may be a coping mechanism coz of the new baby but this makes me so sad. Has anyone else had this? 😢

Hi Claire, yes darling that’s all completely normal. I had my baby girl when my boy was 1 and a half. He did the licking the lips thing too and at first I was so sad cuz I thought it was a sign of anxiety, but within a few days he stopped it. He was always very independent and loved eating by himself, but since his sister he now requires us to feed him again. What I ended up doing was moving them both into the same room. Which was the best thing i did cuz since then he no longer feels left out and they have grown to be so close with each other. It takes time but just keep doing everything together, let your daughter be part of everything and help you. 💕😊✨

Yes that's completely normal My toddler was almost potty trained till my little girl came along. Then went backwards. Wants us to feed him. Wants to sit on me during meal times

@Bruna thank you for sharing! What age was you little girl when you moved them in together? Xxx

@Charlotte thank you for sharing. Did the potty training eventually go back to normal fairly soon after?
