Broccoli, brussel sprouts, puréed sweet corn, parsnips, butternut squash. Cabbage
Courgette, peas, yoghurt, chia seeds you can add puree meat start with orange meat like veal and work your way down. Egg, fish, rice, and other grains. Weatabix is ok to do at this point it's just taste texture and experience. The amount is not important.
Just wondering if anyone consistently gives their baby the store-bought fruit/vegetable purees? Like the sainsbury's one and the likes? 😁 Or you all make from scratch? 😁
@Rosy we do 😬 if I try him with blw bits these are obviously fresh, but for the most part he’s having shop bought purées. For my first I made all hers fresh but the puree stage doesn’t last long so just going with shop bought this time round.
Try broccoli or cauliflower and peas. My daughter loves broccoli. Also Weetabix is a good introduction to wheat and can be mixed with a variety of things as they get bigger.
Definitely get the allergens out of the way as early as you can - there are a lot of helpful like ‘baby’s first 100 foods’ charts out there if you just google. We printed one and stuck it on the fridge to check off when she tries something! @Rosy we do a mix, Ella’s / Piccolo pouches and homemade puree and finger foods
We’re doing purées as well and so far have done parsnip, swede, butternut squash, courgette, aubergine, sweet potato, leek, carrot. I’ve also done a couple of mixes with chicken that he really liked! I tried mashed avocado and my son was not a fan 😹 and I’m yet to start fruits
Thank u mamas xxx I need to a shop! 🤣
If possible wait with processed food as long as possible!
@Gloria does this include store vegetable purees? 😁 Just asking
No judgement for doing purées!! It's my preferred weaning method.
@Hanna mine too xx
I start with puree and add whole. Later, I do the same as my nursery for my oldest. I give a whole meal on their plate and have another one for me to spoon feed from.
Babies naturally prefer sweeter foods so maybe some more bitter/savoury flavours? Things like broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, peas etc My little one enjoys weetabix as well as ready brek and porridge. I started with half a weetabix but he makes so much mess I just use a whole one knowing only a small amount makes it in his mouth. As gluten/wheat would be babys 1st allergen it's best given in the morning and try a few Introductions and a minimum 3 day gap before you introduce another allergen.
