Spicy food for littles

When did you introduce spicy food to your baby. I cook a lot of spicy food. I have started to introduce very mild spice to my son. I will usually give him what I made but tone it down with some sour cream or water it down. It's only been about 3 times he's had spice. My husband thinks we should wait till he's older but I'm worried he won't like spice if we wait. He was loving the food I made today I didn't give him much maybe like 4 or 5 bites. Then I gave water and milk and he was good.

I think I did pretty early on. It was very mild at first and then go spicier. If I make something super spicy I might try to like dab off the sauce a bit to make it less but usually they’re pretty good. They also like the spicy chips we have haha. How old is your son? I think we started 6-10 months just depends on when they started actually eating

I incorporate it into the cooking now for my 7 month old. Last week we went to my MIL she was making a traditional dish and that was spicy I gave my daughter a bit too, she loved it

I add yoghurt to tone it down if it's too spicy so they get the vitamins from that too! Mine loves spice :)

6 months! My daughter is 4 now and she’s pretty good with spicy food.

I'm Indian so little one has a fair bit of spice in her food as she eats what we eat. She's now 10m old. We introduced it slowly and when I cook separately for her I don't add any spice so over the week she has it spread out.

@Gabrielle my son just turned 7 months

@Lydia this is a good idea I will do that next time
