Baby led weaning tips

Hi ladies, my baby boy is 7 months old he currently likes having purees and porridge when I feed him but won’t try to explore any foods himself. I’ve tried a variety of things he’s just not interested, any tips on how to help him get started?

I’m in the exact same position with my daughter - I’d appreciate any help too please 🙏🏻

What sort of food are you giving him at the moment? Xx

Mostly puree packets he likes the flavours of blueberry yogurt, banana and then a broccoli porridge mix, but he won’t have mashed up banana or veggies or any other flavours so far lol

You could try pasta, toast etc? My baby has only been weaning 3 weeks and is already eating normal foods. It seems to come naturally to him. It wasn't so easy for my older child though. The 'What Mummy Makes' recipe book is really useful x

You could give fruit and veg as finger food rather than mashed? As long as it is soft. I mashed food with my older child but I haven't bothered mashing anything this time. The solid starts app is good for telling you how to serve for their age.

My daughter loves the melting puffs you can get the Ella’s kitchen carrot sticks are her favourite but they do turn her hands and face very orange 😂

@Liza I’ve just tried my daughter with these and she got through 1 very slowly 🤣🤣 I think they’ll eventually be a hit
