Whatttt? I thought it was 16 hours??
This is literally unrealistic for my life, drop off and pick ups from nursery are happening WHILE I’m at work? It’s just not doable :/

I'd presume their POV is that your child will be entitled to 30 hours funding, so no reason not to work those hours?
I didn’t think it’s hours a week but the AET (administrative earnings threshold) so more how much you earn a month, I worked it out it’s roughly 20 hours a week depending on wage salary x

@Taya it's madness, It takes me half an hour to get to work from preschool so I'll have to pay no matter what 😅
@Claire oh really? I've been having weekly meetings with UC and they are adamant I need to be working 30 hours a week 🤦🏻♀️ I've managed to get 18.5 hours one week and 13 hours the next as my work don't have many hours extra going 😅

I’ve had the same convo-I can’t even put my lo in for 30hrs as we’re relocating and I have a custody battle with ex where I can’t change schools/preschools without his consent and so not sure how I’m meant to earn enough when she only does 15hrs! 🤷🏼♀️ joke x

As hard as it seems what can you do, essentially you're dammed if you do, dammed if you don't. Do they apply sanctions for not finding a job?

I went to UC the lady I met told me it doesn’t matter how many hours I work, however, the money I make matters
