Weaning / there is no “right” or “wrong”
Hi ladies
I’ve noticed some post’s recently where mothers are worried they aren’t where they “should be” in weaning their baby. I just wanted to post my experience, in hope it would help some of you in some way.
My little girl will be 7 months on Friday and she hasn’t grasped putting food to her mouth yet, but she’ll hold it after some reservations. She loves the Ella’s Kitchen pouches, which I started out with and I’m slowly introducing mashed fresh food, which is going down ok but the pouches are still being used depending on the type of day!
Please ignore the noise and judgement we receive, a fed baby is best! It doesn’t matter if that’s through baby led weaning or fresh purées or pouches. It all takes time, up until babies are 1 years old milk should still be their main source of nutrition. This time is experimental and a learning experience for both mum and baby.
Be kind to yourselves x
It's also important to remember all babies are different and will take to it differently but eventually they will all eat food. Right now it's just about learning. My girl puts everything in her mouth but majority comes back out, wetter than it went in. But she's trying different tastes and textures
