Birth plan

Those of you that have had little ones before, when do you talk about your birth plan? It’s our first and I’m really turning towards an elective due to having low papp-a and GD and just wanting a birth without feeling so much anxiety. I just don’t know when I would need to mention it or do I wait for them to start asking me 🫠

At 34/36 week appointment they usually start asking about birth plan and it’s a good time to discuss options. I would assume you have a call with a consultant around 36 weeks due to low Papp-a/GD and that’s when you would firm things up a bit and see what is advised.

I just had mine at 35+4 but I think it depends when your appointment falls. My last one was much later

@kazzarooony I’ve got my 34 week appointment next week when I’m 33 weeks so hopefully it gets discussed then

Mine was 36 weeks with my first and about similar for friends. If you are seeing your midwife before then you can just mention it as no harm in doing so especially if that’s what you’re gearing towards as can then start some talks around it earlier on. I found the birth talk appointment a bit intense with my first as was a lot of detail about every single option/type of birth and less on what I was thinking of
