Hospitals in NI

My LO is currently admitted to hospital (6 months old) with a vomiting diarrhea bug and I feel like losing it We were brought in on the ambulance and the team in resus where fantastic Once we were on the ward however we asked for paracetamol around 3am we got it eventually at 17:00 this evening The doctor told us this morning that he needed fluids and we waited five hours for diaorilite I know they're short staffed and they are so busy with all the sicknesses going about but I'm ready to loose it he's my baby and I'm terrified of something happening The student nurse on the ward didn't even bother to look to see his name and kept calling him her even when corrected But at the same time was ordering drugs for him?

You can ask to speak to the sister in charge of the ward or ask how to make a complaint. Parents do generally worry more and may think their child needs more treatment that they are getting. I’ve been there before and had sepsis during labour and the after effects. Medication will have to be administered due to the babies size and dose restrictions he maybe getting higher doses less often etc

Where are you? We went to Antrim at 5 months with severe stomach bug and they were brilliant we didnt have to wait long, usually with the small babies they are really good
