Daycares in Downtown Toronto

Hi! Need some help here - I signed up for subsidized daycares through the government portal back in February 2024, for around 8 places in my area. I found out in July 2024 that it turns out just doing this doesn’t automatically put you in the waitlist for all those places ( we were automatically put in for just two) so I had to call the remaining places to relay my LO’s information and get on those waitlists. I have been religiously calling the daycares monthly to express interest and make sure our names were on there. In the last week I’ve found out that spots are full for a lot of the daycares, for the June 2025 enrollment which is when I was hoping to go back to work and I’m beginning to panic. I’m pretty sure even though I signed up 11 months in advance, that was too late. I’m open to enrolling my child in non-subsidized daycares now as I’m desperate, does anyone know of any near the fort York/ harbor front, King st w/ queen st west area? Also for how long did you have to wait for to enroll your child?

I messaged you

I was on the wait list for two years, there are some that had spots after a year and a half, so I’m sure if you keep trying and following up you’ll get a spot eventually

I know a lot of people who were able to get last minute spots at Kids and Co on queen street
