GTT Test

I have my GTT in a couple weeks and I’m feeling quite nervous, I had really bad sickness right up until 18 weeks, and I still throw up every morning. My test is at 8:30am and so I’m worried I won’t keep the drink down. Any advice or just anyone who has been through it? Thanks ✨🤍

I’m in the middle of taking mine now and I won’t lie I’ve been feeling sick again last few days and did just go to throw up but I don’t like raspberry and mine tasted strongly of it so that’s probably what it was!All I’m waiting on is being able to eat in 30 minutes. Just make sure you have water with you! I’m just slowly sipping water to get rid of the after taste. Good luck though I’m sure you’ll be fine! X

I had mine yesterday but was sick about half hour after taking it so they are doing a plasma glucose test on me instead because we weren't sure whether I'd be able to tolerate doing another one if I couldn't keep this one down

My one wasn’t a fasting one so I was able to have breakfast as usual (which kept me through) then went for my appt which was fine and then able to eat after. I had no info on it being a fasting or non fasting test but I figured out once there that if you have an afternoon appt then it’s a non fasting one and all my appts was in the afternoon as I lived an hr away.

Hey I’ve just had to redo mines this week as they lost my bloods the first time 😂 i didn’t find it that bad as everyone I had seen on tiktok etc. mines was orange flavour in like a squeezey capri sun type and I can only describe it tasted like an off brand lucozade sport. I just downed it within 5 mins and then sat around the GPs for the two hours in case I felt faint. Felt completely fine and not nauseous or anything, just took sips of water when I felt like my mouth was dry!

I had mine on Tuesday and it was absolutely fine, mine tasted just like water with a bit of sugar in, not unpleasant at all, and during the wait I was fine too, just bored 🤣 try not to worry, I did and mine was fine x

I had mine this morning, fasted overnight and then went in at 9am, had a blood test, drank a sweet drink (mine was unflavoured just very sweet water), sat for two hours so I took my laptop and got some work done. Then another blood test. It’s honestly super simple, doesn’t take long (apart from the waiting bit!) and didn’t make me feel nauseous or sick at all, and I had horrific sickness until 15 weeks. It was in a busy waiting room so I did lots of people watching 😂 I was starving by the time I left the hospital at 11:30! Just take a big bottle of water with you and keep sipping it.
