What is going on? šŸ˜©

My son will be 2 in two weeks, and for the last couple of weeks he has been quite tough to deal with. He has suddenly refused to eat at dinner times, no matter what it is and he may only eat a couple of mouthfuls and thatā€™s it; or he just wants to be sat on someoneā€™s lap and be fed, same with breakfast. I also have found that he constantly wants to snack which I have to stop him from doing sometimes. We co-sleep and at night he is waking up a few times crying and screaming, he will only go back to sleep if he is lying on my arm and I pat him back. This may sound trivial but I am exhausted as I have a 7 month old and an 8 year to look after as well. I just want to know if this is normal or not as I didnā€™t go through this with me eldest šŸ˜

Normal x

Same here..mine just turned 2 and is refusing to sleep without me šŸ« šŸ«

He is turning two! Unfortunately that is the best explanation there is. We are going through the exact same and my best advice is just to be there for them when they are struggling to regulate/sleep and try to keep things as similar to how it was before regarding meal times etc. ride the wave of tantrums and remember they are great learning opportunities for them. Also, donā€™t feel guilty if you get overwhelmed or frustrated with them, we all do. Just know itā€™ll pass. Itā€™s a very hard transition but this is just them trying to figure out the new hormones and changes in their life and bodies. They are learning that they can say no to anything and there isnā€™t much you can do, so try to stay firm. They are testing the boundaries you set, so try to stick to them. They are becoming proper little humans with minds of their own now

Thank you for your responses! It makes me feel a bit better knowing that itā€™s normal; weā€™ll just have to ride through it! šŸ™

Iā€™m so glad Iā€™ve seen this. My daughter is also 2 on 24th and she wants to be fed like a baby with her milk now and also waking up loads in the night, I thought sheā€™d developed a fear to her cot but hopefully itā€™s just a stage! X
