@Tea thank you for your reply! I actually have that app and have tried quite a lot of the recipes on there, he does like the curry recipes so I do add some veggies to those. He seems to be ok with different things at tea time but breakfast and lunches are such a struggle. I’m going to keep having a look for hidden veggie options and keep plodding on. Thank you xx
I think this is a notoriously fussy phase no matter how they were weaned so please don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. We did BLW from the beginning and he’s always had family meals, used to eat anything and all fruit veg etc. Now he refuses fruit and veg except banana or grapes and if he could live on cheese spread sandwiches he would 😂 if he’s not had it before it’s a hard no from him! x
I could have wrote every word of this my self so just know you’re not alone! I dont have any advice unfortunately (sorry) as I struggle daily with feeding my son and I think it’s so hard when navigating multiple allergies 😭 my son is allergic to egg, wheat, oats & barley but we’re yet to start any ladders to start introducing more x
Honestly not your fault at all... We're going through a fussy phase too, keep meaning to do some hidden veg recipes but haven't got round to it yet! Our little one loves Peanut butter sandwiches and would live off them, watsits and biscuits at the moment if we let her!!
Thank you everyone, I think I had my meltdown and stopped blaming myself. It does appear to be quite a common phase too as a couple has mentioned. I think we probably got into a bad rut of giving him his favourites if he wouldn’t eat what we was eating so would now happily live of toast and bananas! But thank you all so much, I think deep down I knew I wasn’t failing but I just needed some other mums to relate to. Thank you everyone 🩵
That's so hard You're doing your best ans that's amazing! Don't be so hard on yourself it's a tricky age for eating
I use a great app called “baby led weaning cookbook” I think it’s about £5, but there are a load of recipes on there. Have a look at the insta page (same name as the app) and see whether you think it might work for your boy. Don’t feel like you’re failing him, the fact that you’re trying to help him tells me you’re doing a great job 💖
