Not gaining weight

My little girl hasn’t gaining much weight. December she as 10kg January 10.1kg March 10.2kg She has been unwell a lot throughout winter but she’s just not gaining weight anymore. What do I do? She does eat a lot of food when she’s well!

between 1 and 2 they only gain approx 5lbs over the whole year :) which is about 2.5kg, so given that she's been ill and potentially not eating as much during shorter spaces, still gaining steadily I wouldn't be worried :) also factors like growing, illness, mobility increasing can all impact it :) I would keep an eye out especially over the next month or so if she's now not poorly and see what happens :)

Average weight of 18mth old is 10.8kg, so your LO is on the lower end, but still looks to be a healthy weight. If you look in your red book are they drastically dropping %line or are they roughly following the curve?

My little boy is the same but over a longer period but he’s been constantly unwell and is always climbing and rubbing around paired with their growth slowing so I’m not worried :)

The same happened to us when he was ill a lot this winter. Also, you have to consider that in that time she surely did grow, which uses a lot of energy. What we do is, when he has an appetite and wants to eat, we make sure the food he eats is calorie and nutrition dense. So no empty calories.. My go to are nut bars (like nakd for example. Some shops do cheaper knock of versions), bananas with tahini or peanut butter, home cooked meals with some healthy fats like olive oil, I sometimes make him fish fingers to snack on (the ones that are 100% fish)... Stuff like that. That way I know if he only had two bites those two bites were packed with calories and nutrition. Also drinking some yoghurt or kefir when he doesn't feel like eating works well for us.

Thanks everyone, she saw her respiratory specialist on Tuesday and they are also concerned about her weight. Hopefully it’s just a coincidence from being so ill over winter but they are going to be testing her for SF as she has all the symptoms, but we have 4 weeks to try and get her to gain weight when she sees the specialist again, but she will be tested before then x

Im glad you went with your instincts! Can't beat mum instinct! Hope she starts to gain some weight for you!
