You’re correct it would be 2.5 days based on what you’ve said. And as @taylor mentioned it will be 30 hours per week from sept onward so that should cover the whole week 6 hours per day 5 days a week.
And I think different nursery’s stretches the funding out different over the year so days/hours might fluctuate depending on the nursery x
Its funny how the gouvernement is unable to provide clear instructions on this. The amount of times ive heard a parent being confused by this is huge! Ive been trying to understand it and its so confusing! It seems all the gov information is written i a cryptic way they enjoy our suffering And sorry i cannot help lol
@Taylor thank you for replying oh I haven’t seen this at all 🙃 I feel so lost with it all
@Idil thank you for the reply I guess I have more research to do on it since I had no idea the cover was extending
Same don’t worry it is so confusing .. they defo don’t make it easy for us FTM 🙈
It works out as roughly 22.5 hours per week if stretched all year round, or 30 hours term time. (I work in a baby room at a nursery, all nurseries have their own policies on funding etc though so always double check withy our provider) xx
Are you talking about the 15 funded hours for working parents? There are different schemes 🤷♀️ if it’s for working parents then I agree with everything everyone else said! I think there is a 15 hours scheme for those on benefits too so just be clear which ones you’ll be claiming x
From September you will be entitled to 30 hours per week if term time only. If you are going for 30 hours. I would say it's worth asking the preschool for specifics like consumables charges etc as that's what they are there for. I work in funding and get these questions all the time from parents x
Don't be embarrassed they will already know how it works. We've asked and essentially we get one day free and may increase his days as he will get the 30 hours we won't be paying anymore
Basically just count the hours rather then the days. So if you want 30 hours you would pay for 15hours and the other 15 are free.
I was told that from September children ages 9months will now get 30hrs so for instance now my son gets 15hrs funding and goes preschool Monday and Tuesday but from September he will be going an extra day as he will get 30hrs which equals to 3 days …. So I was told
