Mine absolutely loves donut holes lol so yes he is getting sweet treats . They are sometimes a weekend treat so breakfast on weekends but I only get them maybe once a month and when the box is gone thatā€™s it. He gets a cookie from time to time but itā€™s. It a daily occurrence that heā€™s getting sweet treats. Some Nights after dinner if he ate well we will offer a few bites of ice cream

How old is your son?šŸ„° Weā€™ve been giving our daughter (21 months) cookies or chocolates every now and then too and I think we have a pretty good balance with it, but Iā€™m scared cause well itā€™s sugar. And I get paranoid, but I know itā€™s okay in moderation!

I try to keep them to a minimum - but yes he definitely has treats from time to time. Like he doesnā€™t get his own popsicle but if his brothers are eating one the rule is they have to give him bites šŸ˜‚ Iā€™d do the same if we went out for ice cream. Otherwise he definitely has a cookie here and there or chocolate chips, baked goods etc. I really try not to give him ā€œcandyā€ though cause I feel like at this age they donā€™t need all the food dyes and chemicals

We do sweets in moderation. We usually stick to rice cakes and cookies. Every once in a while, like after a doctors appointment or when heā€™s had a really good day Iā€™ll give him a ā€œspecial snackā€ like a Reeceā€™s cup or something similar. I donā€™t want him to grow up thinking certain foods are bad and feel guilt about eating them. Heā€™s only two but I felt like teaching him this early will make it easier when heā€™s older.

Everything in moderation x we aim for baby snacks because theyā€™re usually low or no added sugar. Sheā€™s never had sweets, chocolate etc. only had proper cake for her birthday. I figure we have many years of that ahead, Iā€™d rather it not become a habit this early x

My son who is 21 months will get treats randomly, nothing consistently. If we are at a family gathering and there are desserts he will have some bites of mine. No harm in my opinion. I also will most likely use M&Ms or something similar when we start potty training which will be in a couple months.

Only on occasion. If we go to a birthday party, we'll allow a little bit of cake. But we try to limit it quite a bit right now. We'll allow more as she gets older. She gets quite a bit of sugar from fruits naturally.

As someone who grew up with an eating disorder i try to not have any off limit food. We just try to keep everything in moderation.

My daughter loves to take a bites out of my Reeseā€™s or ice cream(she is 20 months) maybe like 1 or 2 times a week but she does not get a sugar rush or anything like that

My son gets sweets every once in a while. If you want something as a reward, that is healthier, if recommend getting a dehydrator and making fruit jerky. Itā€™s a healthier fruit roll up. My son loves these. I do orange and yogurt for a creamsicle tasting one. Peach and cherry. Pretty much any fruit I find on sale. And I do give my son jello, it has a bunch of calcium in it.

Boboā€™s apple cinnamon oatmeal bites are a hit with us- they are gluten and dairy free which is a must for us! Also Annieā€™s cocoa & vanilla bunny cookies:) we give them as a snack few times a week

We donā€™t restrict anything but everything in moderation. My son loves ice cream and cookies he gets once in a while. Mostly when he goes to grandmas šŸ¤£

@Margarita what jello do you buy?

Yes but not often. I donā€™t really roll how often or how much. Sheā€™ll have cookies or a chocolate chip. Her daycare class are all turning 2 soon so Iā€™m sure sheā€™ll have a fair amount of cake. Iā€™m not too picky about it as long as they eat well rounded. Matter of fact today sheā€™s having cupcakes.

@Heidi an off brand at the grocery store. Get get the sugar free one

He definitely gets some sweets but we try to stick with mostly fruits for the sweet tooth. He also LOVES the target brand chocolate hummus which only has 1 gram of sugar per 2 tbsp. Itā€™s legit delicious. He gets rice pudding once in a while too. Honestly when we are out at restaurants and stuff Iā€™ll try to give him bites of my sweets and heā€™s surprisingly usually not interested.

No sugar besides naturally from fruits or smoothie

I really only offer it during occasions or if he sees someone around him eating it and really wants it
