What are the red flags of a daycare and what are green flags

I'm hearing and seeing so many red flags and horror stories and I think I'm starting to understand why mom's avoid daycare the ones who choose to stay at home. What I need some validation and it's just too much to type so what are the red flags or what happened at your daycare that is a huge No-No

It depends how uptight you are and understanding what each one entitles, as well as your child's personality. I personally find all the kids hate

Montessori and the workers mostly seem super unhappy. When you walk in to check them out, look at the employees and how the manager is running the place. I love my daycare, and my son wants to go every day. I have him in there a couple days a week. It is reggio learning type which is more like traditional school with outlines for kids learning every week, lots of encouraged team play. Can be hard for 2yo who want to own the room and the toys, but are made to share. Montessori has some group activities like fun cultural songs and learning. the kids mostly play alone it seems. They aren't aloud to fantasy play (play kitchens, dress up, read fantasy books with fake characters like dragons and fearies), are not aloud to yell or run. It's basically putting the parents first, so don't interrupt adults, kind of thing. They learn about animals through real pictures and non cartoon, etc, but apparently struggle once they go to regular school.

Then there is one meant for kids who live rural where they learn life skills and about environment before ABC 123. Depends where you live. Go view different types of daycare and don't judge based on used or new toys/centers. You'll have a gut feeling when you meet the employees and do a walk through

@Jordan all the kids hate? Wdy mean

Read all 3 of Jordan's posts as 1, all kids hate Montessori, she then describes what that is (sounds horrifying to me personally, stifling imaginative play just as it begins to develop)

@Susan are ypu agreeing either? Sorry I'm confused at your stance

@Jordan the team thing is very important imo!! Social connection is hugely missing in society

Stand daycares will promote playing together and making friends more. They want kids to have team work, share and help one another Some people like Montessori and it's good for bilingual kids mostly
