Scan anxiety

I am 18+4 and the anxiety I have around my 20 week scan is ridiculous! She’s my first baby and I am plus size which I think adds to my anxiety due to me not seeing much of a visible bump like I would if I was smaller. This baby wasn’t planned but now she’s all I can think about and it heightens my anxiety thinking something is wrong. Anyone else experience this and have any tips to calm down?

No tips, I'm afraid, but I could have literally written this myself almost word for word. I'm 19 weeks today and literally counting down the days until my 20 week scan. You're not alone 🫶

I’m 19 weeks on Wednesday have my 20 week next Tuesday. My anxiety is massive like you I am on the more plus size and don’t have a big bump I am so worked up about going to the scan I know exactly how you feel. All I’ve been told by the mental health team is focus on one positive thing a day and write down how I’m feeling. If I can write down a solution to the problem carry it out if I can’t do I feel better for writing it down and can I move on from it at the moment breathing is a big things as well baby can hear vibrations so if you breath and speak out loud about what you can hear see feel touch taste smell this could be a way of you starting to properly connect with baby

Me too! 17w and dying to get there. I got a doppler which reaaaaally helps as it means I can hear the heartbeat whenever I’m anxious (which is all the time). Warning though - you’ll first pick up your own heart beat (a lot of arteries down there) but eventually you’ll pick up around 150bmp and for me it’s just a huge sigh of relief every time ♥️
