School holidays

What are you all planning to do for childcare during school holidays? My parents live an hour away, so can't wait really ask them for help. The school we put as first choice due to school clubs, the holiday club is really limited apparently, and don't think there are many other places that offer holiday clubs or if they are they aren't to suit working hours.

Absolutely no idea yet 😧 I guess a mix of separate holiday (eg only me or my husband being off), staying with grandparents/ grandparents coming to stay at ours, clubs, both of us wfh with them there (😩), cousins house

@Beckie it's an absolute nightmare isn't it 😭

Grandparents live 3hrs away so they will come up for a few days at a time. In-laws will do the same. We will go away as a family during the holidays and will wfh while at grandparents house. There are lots of clubs by us fortunately. Jump on the internet you will be surprised. We got a flyer through the door yesterday for an Easter hols sports camp at the local rugby club. £35 a day 9-4 not ideal hours but if I wfh it’s doable Also going to share care with friends and have their kids odd days. Our som will get 8 weeks over the summer holidays - it’s a joke!! Keep them in bloody school!!!! It’s unnecessary

A lot of the clubs have said that under 5s can only attend for 4hrs due to Ofsted regulations, which again isn't helpful at all

That is annoying!! Can you do compressed hours at work so you have some flexibility during the holidays? Speak to HR

Not really, it's not really something they'd offer as I'm only engineer on shift. Hopefully the school will offer holiday clubs, or her current nursery, but feel guilty if sending her to school during half term
