I put grated carrot in bolognese sauce and grated courgette in tomato sauce. Also make smooth soups with veg in them. Mine won't eat egg either.
@Hattie suckie packs are a great idea, didn't know they existed to buy empty. Can you recommend which ones you have and where I can get them from? Thanks 🙂
@Becky thanks, soups are a good idea and he does eat them sometimes but he also prefers to eat on his own and makes a mess 😅
I tend to make roasted veg pasta sauce, or some veg fritters/tots/nuggets, Sweet potatoes wedges air fried or roasted veg salads, grated carrots and apple salad. X
@Elisabeta Furtuna yes! I added red lentils to thicken the soup so it doesn't drip everywhere when self feeding!
I boil and blend a LOAD of veggies into a soup (usually whatever is knocking around and about to go off) and then add cream cheese and put it over pasta, she loves it!! I freeze the soup in a muffin tray, pop one out and warm then add the cream cheese. It’s a perfect quick dinner that’s all her veggies in one x
We’ve been struggling with this over the last couple of months. I’ve started hiding veggies in regular foods, e.g sweet potato pancakes, apple and spinach pancakes, veggie chocolate muffins with carrots spinach and courgette, we’ve made broccoli spinach and pea tots and cauliflower tots and I was surprised that he actually really enjoyed them, a butternut squash ‘mac and cheese’ is also a big hit at our house I was also shocked at how well asking my toddler if he thinks the veggie is gonna be crunchy and trying to get as loud of a crunch as possible worked at getting him to eat it. I read about it somewhere and was quite sceptical but on a night where he was just ignoring his veggies completely I figured it’s worth a try. He ended up eating all of his asparagus and half of mine. I tried to make it as fun and engaging as possible and he seemed so happy to be eating it. This also sometimes works if I talk to him about what colour or shape the veggies are
Hide them in other food? Blitz up carrots and butternut squash into sweet potato mash. I make them into purees with some fruit and then put them in suckie packs which my boy loves.
