Warm

How are we keeping our babies warm? I love hiking and have started taking my 11 month old on short hikes. We have the osprey poco which she absolutely loves but I find she is getting cold. She has some fleece lined waterproof boots and mittens but her hands and feet are still so cold! I have her in a vest, tights, trousers, top, and cardigan with a waterproof/windproof fleece lined suit. Does anyone have any recommendations on boots/ mittens/ coats etc Also any recommendations for keeping her face warm.

where did you get your carrier from ? my partner is desperate for one !

@Hannah we got ours on Gumtree and saved a fortune. They usually cost £50 plus. I was wondering the same thing after walking the dog earlier (we only ever do supper muddy rough terrain walks). I might have to start doing tights and booties for those cold toes/legs (her trousers legs always seem to rise awkwardly in the carrier). I might even have to do some gloves or a sleep suite with built in mits if they make them in this size (my little girl is 10 months)

I bought a Columbia down filled snow suit and it's incredible. He goes in the carrier with his normal clothes on underneath and we turn over the hands and feet, and he's always toasty. When it's been really cold then I might leave a cardigan on. Go for a size up and it will be long enough to keep using the turn overs and create a sort of sealed sleeping bag. I usually find that the hood is enough but I also have a merino balaclava that I use when it's really cold. My friend does the same but she's been out on the mountains in snow and finds that putting the waterproof cover over her daughter works a treat

@Hannah it’s the osprey poco plus and we bought it from go outdoors

@Chloe thank you !! we love that store, always over spend 🤣
