@Jelena Thank you I’ll try having a spoon myself too, she always has one but tends to use her hands usually. I try to be firm with her and she does understand no, she looks at me and shakes her head (😂) then carries on. I’ll try and be a bit more firm with her. Just worrying she’s going hungry x
I had the same problem really and I just kept repeating myself so they eventually give up with messing around xx
@Jelena I’m hoping she does soon! Just can’t afford to keep making meal after meal when the first one’s been launched! Xx
I didn’t give my LG the whole thing at once - so a piece of hot cross bun and some banana, then you’ve got more if they eat it or chuck it. We also had a plate or bowl that if she didn’t want it we redirected her to put it in the bowl or on the plate rather than throw on the floor. Now she’s older (21m) we differentiate between accidentally knocking it on the floor (she gets it back) and throwing it on the floor (she doesn’t).
When ours went through this phase I did same as Charlotte, just gave him one bit of food at a time!
Thanks both, that’s what we’ve been doing, piece by piece it went onto the floor 🫠😩 I’ll try with having a bowl if she doesn’t want it, it goes in there instead!
As others have said, I think it helps to just feed them a little bit at a time. That way you're not wasting the whole meal if they toss the first little bit on the floor. Also, I'm not sure if this is helpful or not but my son has decided that he will not eat bland food. 🤣 Last night he kept tossing his chicken on the floor, when I seasoned it with smoked paprika and fried it, he gobbled it down.
@Tiffani These babies 😂🫠 We do give her it little bits at a time and it still gets thrown! I think she’s just trying to push her boundaries!
Euh honestly I give him back if it was on the floor, call me bad mom but my floor is quite clean (mopped twice a week) and anyway my son licks the floor sometimes and put so many things in his mouth what’s the difference 🤣 And if he throws it again then I put it back again in the plate, it goes in the fridge and I’ll try later when he will be hungry « enough »
@Marie I give it her back too, no judging here 🤣 She eats the tiniest little crumb she can pick up off the floor so I’m sure it won’t hurt her! I am going to just keep trying again later on, I’m sure she will have it when she’s hungry
We’re getting suction plates and giving them a spoon and yourself a spoon to show how it’s done, they learn from watching how it’s properly done, although it is totally normal for them to touch up with a bit of food decor decorate x If it means you need to be a bit firmer with food as in more serious to tell them no, it’s time to eat. They do understand you even when they’re that young x
